Author biography:
Professor Anilchandra Bandopadhyay was a prominent professor at Calcutta University. He became the Principal of Maharaja Manindrachandra College, Calcutta in 1953, before which he was a lecturer in history at Calcutta College. He taught for 40 long years. Guru Nanak of Jadavpur University retired in 1975 as Professor of Indian History. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Calcutta University and the President of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. As a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, he served as an educationist nominated by the Governor. He was the President of Punjab History Conference in 1971 and Rajasthan History Congress in 1973.
