Introduction
The compilation book Galpa-Lekhar Galpa (‘Stories of Story Writing), edited by Jyotiprasad Basu, was published with the permission of All India Radio authorities. It is primarily a collection of lectures given by several individuals in the Amar Galpa Lekha (My Story Writing) series broadcast by All India Radio.
This compiled book was published by bringing together those lectures. The writings have been arranged as far as possible according to the date of the lectures. Jyotiprasad Basu wished to include a brief biographical sketch and a portrait of each author, but since many of them were unwilling, he could not realize this wish.
With the cooperation of ‘All India Radio’ authorities, the author Jyotiprasad Basu undertook to reveal the history of story writing or literary works of famous writers and was determined to bring it to the Bengali readers. This resulted in the publication of this extremely important book.
